ImageThe 83rd Annual Meeting of the German Society (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Säugetierkunde e. V.) will be held in Dresden on 13-17 September 2009.

The meeting will be hosted by the Senckenberg Naturhistorische Sammlungen Dresden, Museum für Tierkunde. The collection in Dresden dates back to the 16th century and therefore has a long tradition, even though the collections have been severely damaged several times . The mammal collection now houses about 25.000 specimens from around the world with a special treasure of specimens from the Indo Malayan Region collected at the end of the 19th century by A. B. Meyer.

The meeting language will be English and so it will be a meeting to bring together members of the German Society of Mammalogy and friends from all over the world to exchange results and ideas in mammalogy.

The meeting website is here.
